Cameron tries to support her and not let his feelings show. His sons, Dylan and Harry Murray , come to stay for a few days. Sarah become sick and they learn she has a rare genetic disorder. Cameron hires his own truck and starts poaching the King's customers. A betrayed Carl retaliates by attacking Cameron's truck that instigates an interactive rivalry between the two ; with Cameron plotting to ruin the Kings.
Together with Cain and his ex-girlfriend Charity Dingle , Debbie's mother, Cameron infiltrates Carl's project before going on to steal the King's haulage trucks and selling them off. Cameron then wipes all the files containing contracts from Carl's computer. This prompts Cain to tell Cameron he is part of the Dingle clan. Sarah falls ill and Cameron supports Debbie.
Debbie realizes that she needs to conceive a savior sibling with Andy and tries for IVF, however when this fails she sleeps with him. Cameron is unhappy when her learns they had sex together and they briefly separate but soon get back together. He begins blackmailing Cameron and Chas for money whilst seeking to restart his relationship with Chas in spite of their past issues. Cameron becomes desperate to raise the amount and ends up robbing The Woolpack shortly after selling his haulage truck to Carl's brother Jimmy King.
This successfully works until Carl realizes that Cameron has played him for selling his van to Jimmy and ends up phoning the police on him for the Woolpack robbery. Cameron is taken in for questioning until Debbie gets him off the hook, with Chas also taking the blame for the robbery. Following these events, Cameron's relationship with Debbie becomes a lot more tenuous due to his continuous affair with Chas and interactive rivalry on Carl.
Soon afterwards, Debbie starts to go on labor with her family proving support for her with the exception of Chas who is on the verge of marrying Dan Spencer. Cameron becomes alerted, but is unable to do anything as he is still vulnerable to Carl's blackmail. He later contacts Carl for a meeting in the church where the two begin the two start trading personal insults and criticisms. An infuriated Cameron soon threatens Carl when the latter presses the issue, only for Carl to just laugh him off before departing.
A while later, Cameron sees Chas running away and goes to see what she's running from. He finds a weakened Carl lying on the ground next to Debbie's garage and confronts him ; having missed his earlier attempt to rape Chas that culminated with her hitting Carl with a brick. Carl goads Cameron about the affair and how Cain and Debbie will react, before going on to rant how the death of his older brother Matthew King has made him untouchable to any crime he previously committed, including the killing of his father Tom King.
He then declares his promise to destroy Cameron's life and proceeds to taunt how he will never be able to kill him because he is indestructible, which ultimately becomes the last straw for Cameron as he responds by hitting Carl on the head with a brick, killing him. Cameron checks if Carl is alive; when he is not, Cameron flees just before the latter's deceased body is discovered by Adam Barton and Victoria Sugden.
Cameron digging up Alex 's remains. Meanwhile, Debbie is giving birth to baby Jack, allowing Cameron to wash his bloodstained clothes. Cameron is thrilled about Jack's birth and cannot wait to be a family with Debbie, Sarah and Jack. Carl's death becomes public knowledge the following day with Jimmy getting arrested for his murder following his earlier confrontation with Carl whilst Cameron's cause remains undiscovered and, on the same day, Debbie receives a message from Carl that exposes Cameron's affair with Chas.
She confronts Cameron and chucks him out, before going on with her furious parents and grandfather Zak Dingle to confront Chas in the Woolpack, where a heartbroken Dan and the residents all learn of the affair. With Cameron getting involved in the situation, he is attacked by Cain and Charity that leads to them both getting arrested.
In that moment, Chas confesses to murdering Carl after explaining his attempted rape on her and ends up getting arrested as well. Cameron does not admit to killing Carl and while Cain and Charity are released without charge, Chas is charged with his murder.
Consumed with guilt, he confesses the truth to his best friend Alex Moss. Cameron is then relieved to hear that Chas has been acquitted, but he suspects Alex may go to the police. On that day, Cameron knocks Alex down with a wooden object lying on the floor and he takes him hostage in a haulage van. The next morning, Alex tries to reason with Cameron that is enough to persuade him to release him.
However, Cameron starts to become hesitant as he explains his interaction with Carl that allows Alex to escape and run through the woods. Cameron manages to catch up to Alex and drags him back to the van, where he kills him off-screen to prevent him from going to the police.
Cameron is later seen burying Alex in the woods along with his bag of clothes he stole. To cover up Alex's death, he stages a break-down in Edna Birch 's house to manipulate everyone in believing that he left the village with a lot of debt. He then leaves the village for a month following a run-in with Cain that gets him beaten up and after Debbie comes close to ramming him down from the road.
Cameron soon returns the following month and shocks the Dingle's by proposing to Chas that leads to the two getting engaged. Upon discovering this, Cain becomes infuriated with their presence and engagement that leads to him threatening to destroy Cameron and Chas unless they leave the village for good.
Cameron, however, becomes unfazed and later plans to kill Cain ; whom he confronts in his garage where he makes it clear that he isn't going anywhere. Tensions between Cain and Cameron soon instigate a confrontation with Chas, Zak and Cain's girlfriend Moira Barton rushing in the scene the moment Cain punches Cameron.
However, Cameron fights back and brutally beats Cain up before launching him against the wall. Witnessing Chas in the crossfire, Cain checks to see if she is ok before Cameron picks up a wrench to finish him off, only for Chas to step in between the two just in time.
Having won the fight, Cameron backs off and leaves since he is unable to finish Cain due to Chas's interference. When Debbie learns about this, she becomes angry at Cain shortly before revealing Cameron's engagement with Chas to Sarah.
Since then, Cain gradually starts to rebuild his interaction with Chas whilst clashing with Cameron on more than one occasion. During this time, Cameron has already been aware that Chas was being stalked and harassed by Carl's son Thomas King.
He is later unimpressed when she gives him a job in the Woolpack and suspiciously begins to question his interaction with Chas, only for Chas to keep backing him off. The two later have a meal in the Woolpack as orchestrated by Thomas and Marlon Dingle , Chas' cousin, which is later interrupted by an alarm that was indirectly caused by Thomas.
In that moment, Cameron becomes angry and snaps at Thomas by calling him a "liability" before getting dismissed by Chas and Thomas. He soon confronts Thomas and warns him to leave the village for good, but ends up upsetting Thomas when he laments how much he wanted to make amends with Chas following an previous confession from Cain that describes what his father had attempted to do on the night he was murdered.
Becoming regretful, Cameron apologises to Thomas for his behaviour towards him and proceeds to explain how much his father loved Chas by attempting to reconcile their relationship in his own terms ; which becomes clear that Thomas isn't positive about what his father had done to Chas while Cameron surprisingly regrets killing Carl in spite of their past.
Their conversation is broken by Chas, who thanks Cameron for making amends, and the two would later endure a positive interaction until Thomas ends up departing the village for good. Cameron later discovers that Charity is having an affair with Declan Macey , and begins blackmailing her to ease up on Chas under the threat of exposing her affair to her husband Jai Sharma.
He also blackmails Declan under the same purpose when his nephew Robbie Lawson begins to stir up trouble for Chas as part of Debbie's plan ; threatening to tell his wife Kate Sugden , Chas' best friend, about the affair if he doesn't back Robbie off.

Debbie played by Charley Webb hasn't been seen in the Emmerdale village since earlier this year when she returned after a prolonged absence as the mistress of love rat, Al Chapman Michael Wildman. As the youngster suffered a panic attack during Thursday's double-bill of the ITV soap, Faith Sally Dexter thought it was wise to tell her granddaughter what had happened.
However, with Cain Dingle Jeff Hordley adamant his mother stay clear of his family, will he have already informed Debbie about how he thinks her great-grandmother is a bad influence, leading to her refusal to return for Sarah's sake?
Faith and Debbie's father Cain have had a rather strained relationship recently and this week's news didn't help matters. When it was revealed the matriarch of the Dingle clan didn't have cancer but indeed, arthritis, her son deemed her as a liar. At the start of Thursday's first episode, the mechanic was being rather cold towards his mother, not realising Sarah was struggling with anxiety.
The youngster was starting to feel guilty about the heart she had received from a previous transplant but her feelings hadn't helped following the recent death of Leanna Cavanagh Mimi Slinger. This put a thought in Sarah's head she could die any minute and should protect herself from harm but the irrational thoughts caused her to have a serious panic attack.
Luckily, Belle Dingle Eden Taylor-Draper was on hand to call an ambulance and get the youngster to hospital as Sarah thought she was dying. Once at the hospital, the medical professionals informed the youngster she had been experiencing a panic attack and the nurse told her it was likely stress had brought it on. Realising she wasn't going to be going anywhere, Sarah told Cain and Faith: "Right, somebody ought to ring [Debbie] and tell her not to come.
Sarah's grandfather replied: "She will still want to see you," to which Debbie's daughter said: "There's no point. Faith proceeded to leave the hospital room to ring her granddaughter and fill her in on what was going on.
