I will do this hike again the next time we visit the Moab area. Easy, casual walk through a sand covered path with multiple water crossings before reaching the waterfall. Friendly explorers with friendly dogs. Off leash dogs appear to be the norm - something I personally appreciate immensely. Worth the visit. Loved this hike! The vehicle length limit is 22 ft. This popular trail winds through a beautiful canyon eventually reaching several small waterfalls with swimming areas. Beware, after the first swimming hole, the trail gets much more difficult to follow.

A perfect distance for a summer after work jaunt. Fall is likely the season I would most recommend when the upper hills around the lake are on fire with the leaves changing colors. The trail is well signed and easy to follow.
To get there, take I South from I and take exit 4 off of I and go left east on South. Turn left on Wasatch Blvd just after crossing under the highway, then the next right on Millcreek Canyon Road.

The one that leaves on the right side south of the parking lot as you drive in. Follow this trail, staying left at the junction not far from the parking area. To circumvent the pool, backtrack a short distance and find a bypass trail on the north side of the canyon that climbs around the obstacle.
About 0. Here you will find red handprints and a few other figures. Around the 2. As you navigate the curve, look for a short slot canyon along the north wall. Climb slickrock ledges to explore the slot and a nearby alcove devoid of rock art.
The next half mile is a scenic section of the canyon with soaring sandstone walls. This is a good turn around point. Hikers looking for a longer day can continue exploring up the canyon.
The trail now crosses benches, staying away from the stream bed except to cross to the other side. The canyon widens and the walls are lower here. This is another good turn around point. Look for more petroglyphs along the canyon walls on the way back to the trailhead.
