Can i read scientific american on ipad

Scientific American is published by Springer Nature, a leading global research, educational and professional publisher, home to an array of respected and trusted brands providing quality content through a range of innovative products and services.

Already a subscriber? Sign in. Thanks for reading Scientific American. Create your free account or Sign in to continue. See Subscription Options. Press Releases. Extremely frustrating. This is one of the most confusing apps to use. It routinely locks you out, and then you end up in a loop when you try to log back in to your account. Also, I tried to add a subscription, and when I reached the checkout page there were no active options on the screen to actually complete the checkout.

Very disappointing. This has been a persistent problem from the earliest days. Every month waiting the best scientific news content. Most display and control pages have no search. You have excellent editors and contributors.

Been reading SA since around It was this magazine that inspired me to create and learn. Now, the publication is almost exclusively about global warming and how horrible western civilization is. If I wanted confirmation bias on left wing politics, I would subscribe to Time magazine. Other tha pure science, the only way to solve global warming is through population reduction. This is a difficult task as all humans have rights. Pointing fingers a people like a bunch of snowflakes and support presidential candidates is not what the publication used to be about.

No one is going to inspired to be an engineer or scientist reading SA. Unless you think that taking an environmental studies class makes you a scientist. I love Scientific American, but this app really misses the mark. It is buggy, clunky, hard to navigate, and just plain ugly. SA, please hire UX consultants or something. This is embarrassing. Is there any solution to this problem? This is the worst App ever developed. I have two paper and 2 digital subscriptions and they never work on this App.

If this App is representative of American Science, our time has passed. What started off as a wonderful intuitive app that allowed you to zoom in to view figures and insights and bookmark articles has morphed into an app that is barely useful. To views figures now you have to use a tiny zoom window what genius came up with that photos can no longer be zoomed.

Going back to paper here. I prefer to read the printed version, but with the app I can keep reading the issue wherever. Really handy. Page lay out in a row at bottom. Would be god to have book mark and underlining capability.

The app should look and feel like the magazine. You have been reading Scientific American for years. The articles are top quality, written by experts in the field, and beautifully illustrated. The Scientific American app is great. But you should not subscribe through Apple. You should only subscribe through the Scientfic American we site. The reason is that subscribing through the web site gives you access to Sci Am on all platforms, including the IOS app, but not the other way around.

If you subscribe through Apple, your subscription is not recognized on the web site, and you cannot access the huge amount of additional timely material that they provide there.

This restriction makes no sense, because both subscriptions are the same price. But you get so much more by subscribing on the web site. This is not made clear in the app store description.

Very frustrating, and not something I would expect from Scientific American. It can't remember you login ID from one session to another. I always have to provide my login data each time I use the app to download an issue. I love bringing this with me everywhere I got my favorite publication, and I have every issue ever made in the palm of my hand. I wish there were a way on iPhone to download multiple issues at the same time though.

I like reading on iPad. Very nice interface! However, I think the log on process is much more complex than any other magazine.

Also when I just want to download the magazine I am subscribed to,it seems I have to page through too many ads for other books and magazines to find it. I recently shifted to iPad Pro, so the font sizes are not as big a deal as before. Improved fonts a good thing. For the vision impaired it has ways to make reading easier. However there is a VERY buggy login process often requiring elaborate switching between browser and app before new issues can be downloaded. In contrast the login for Science News goes very smoothly.

Family sharing does not work. Family members see the share for a second and then it is overwritten by single issue prices. I bought this to foster my kids interest in science. I am not getting that benefit and you have documentation saying it should work. I am reasonably technically adept. The sciam password system confounds me every time. It is almost enough to make me give up on the magazine itself. App Privacy. Information Provider Nature America Inc.
